What a bad record costs you

The numbers inspectors and underwriters already use.

  • $1,000 a day

Miss the MCS-150 biennial update and FMCSA can deactivate your USDOT number and fine up to $1,000 per day, capped at $10,000.

  • 24 months

Every roadside inspection and every crash stays on your SMS record for two years. One bad month follows you through two renewals.

  • 65% · 80%

Cross the BASIC thresholds, 65% for Unsafe Driving, Hours of Service and Crash, 80% for Vehicle Maintenance, Driver Fitness and Controlled Substances, and you move up FMCSA's intervention list. Underwriters read the same percentiles.

Questions drivers ask us

Is FleetKeeper a government site?

No. FleetKeeper is a private service of Motor Carrier Safety and Insurance Services LLC. We read public FMCSA, NHTSA and insurance filing data and we prepare filings on your behalf.

What does the free lookup show?

Your legal name, operating status and safety rating, your FleetKeeper Score, roadside inspections with out-of-service rates against the national average, and BASIC percentiles against the intervention threshold, plus a short read on what to fix first. We also email it to the address you give us. For a VIN it shows the NHTSA decode of the vehicle.

What is in the free company account?

Your full report: FleetKeeper Score, every inspection and violation, crashes, out-of-service rates against the national average, and insurance and BOC-3 filings.

How fast is a filing?

Most MCS-150 updates, UCR registrations and 2290 filings go out within 24 to 48 hours of receiving your documents. Operating authority follows FMCSA's own processing time. DataQ challenges depend on the state that wrote the inspection.

Do you work in Spanish?

Yes. The site, your account, the phone and WhatsApp all work in Spanish.

I am applying for a USDOT number. Can you help?

Yes. We register new carriers with FMCSA, file the operating authority with its BOC-3 and insurance, and get your files ready for the New Entrant safety audit that comes in your first 12 months.
