New Entrant safety audit

Get your files ready for the FMCSA safety audit every new interstate carrier goes through in its first 12 months.

Who needs it: Every new interstate carrier during its first 18 months with a USDOT number.
When: FMCSA schedules the audit within the first 12 months of operation. Start before the notice arrives.
What we need from you: Driver qualification files, your drug and alcohol program with Clearinghouse queries, hours-of-service records, maintenance files and proof of insurance.
If you skip it: Some findings fail the audit on their own, such as no drug and alcohol testing program or a driver without a valid CDL, and a failed audit can revoke your USDOT registration.
