Operating authority

New MC or MX authority, reinstatements, name changes and the BOC-3 and insurance filings that go with them.

Who needs it: For-hire carriers, brokers and freight forwarders crossing state lines, and Mexico-domiciled carriers.
When: Before the first for-hire load. A reinstatement as soon as the authority shows revoked or inactive.
What we need from you: USDOT number, company and officer details, the BOC-3 process agent and your insurer's filing (BMC-91 or BMC-91X).
If you skip it: Running for-hire loads without authority is an out-of-service order and a fine on the spot.
